Chocolate anyone?

Written by Charlotte on May 28, 2009

Why is chocolate better than sex?

1. You can GET chocolate.

2. Chocolate satisfies even when it has gone soft.

3. You can safely have chocolate while you are driving.

4. You can make chocolate last as long as you want it to.

5. You can have chocolate even in front of your mother.

6. If you bite the nuts too hard the chocolate won’t mind.

7. Two people of the same sex can have chocolate without being called nasty names.

8. The word “commitment” doesn’t scare off chocolate.

9. You can have chocolate on your workbench/desk during working hours without upsetting your co-workers.

10. You can ask a stranger for chocolate without getting your face slapped.

11. With chocolate there’s no need to fake it.

12. Chocolate doesn’t make you pregnant.

13. You can have chocolate at any time of the month.

14. Good chocolate is easy to find.

15. You can have as many kinds of chocolate as you can handle.

16. You are never too young or too old for chocolate.

17. When you have chocolate it does not keep your neighbours awake.

18. With chocolate size doesn’t matter

Twitter remark

Written by Charlotte on May 26, 2009

Saw this in the Guardian.   I do have some sympathy with what he is saying.

“I’ve got a thing on my computer screen that updates constantly with the latest news from various sources.  (It’s essentially a technological solution to the problem. “How can I drip-feed unproductive distraction into my field of vision while still clinging to the final sliver of self-respect and dignity I’d abandon by sinking to the level of Twitter?)”.

Still not sure about twitter my self.

It is hotting up this weekend!

Written by Charlotte on May 23, 2009

women-sun-bathingYes they say it is hotting up, with lovely sizzling weather coming our way for this holiday weekend.  This according to the BBC weather tonight.  So I have been digging out my bikinis which have not seen the light of day (no pun intended) for quite sometime.  I will be lying on the beach tomorrow taking in the rays.

dsc_00951 I was working very hard with my photographer to get just the right shots to add to my web site for your enjoyment.

Nicky Ryan, my photographer, had to be very patient with me whilst I was getting changed and arranging everything in the right position!

Sexy Clarins

Written by Charlotte on May 22, 2009

My favourite body treatments and facial skin treatments are made by Clarins.  I have tried them all over the years.  I find that the ingredients that Clarins use work so well with my skin.  I am always being complemented on how smooth and soft my skin is and I believe that this is the reason why.pseudoflash-body-v21  It is so important to moisturise and not to skip this and for men too.  When the skin is warm after a bath or shower the pores are open a little and this is the best time to stroke in lushus creams and oils.  Take your time and enjoy feeling your body, it looks after you and your skin protects you too.

I have a strict routine.  I shower with Clarins wonderful delicate Tonic Bath and Shower Concentrate.  It foams up and kisses my skin as desends and inbrances my body.   The gell contains the most wonderful  scented and softening essential oils.  I then massage using upward strokes in one of Clarins various body lotions, always delectably scented, never over the top, starting with my legs and working my way up toward the heart.  I feel like a million dollars each morning after my shower!

Also, I think this is such a sexy photo on their web site, which is worth a look. I have the link on my wish list page and I am going to add it to my blogroll.  Hint, hint, hint gentlemen!!!

It has turned out nice now.  Had a lovely slow lingering lunch with a real sweetie today.  Going out to try my new bike out whilst has it stopped raining and being windy for a bit.  Good to stretch those legs!    To my friend on twitter who is having a wonderful time lying on a white sandy beach on the otherside of the world right now and letting us all know about it with tweets like “the barman has brought us another drink down, not enough ice” and “the sea is too warm today”, and, “can I put this on expenses I wonder”.   We, the hard working people of this land, do not need to know just how boring your life is on that beach so please keep your tweets for the grains of sand around you!

Beautiful people at the gym

Written by Charlotte on

At the gym yesterday:-

I get really bored in the gym sometimes, so what to do?  Yesterday the gym was busier than usual, may be because the weather was raining outside. I look around.  There was every shape and size in there, male and female, going hammer to tongs on the equipment.  I look further.  All these different people had a part of them that was beautiful.  Not everyone is a total beauty but everyone has parts of them that are.  Some had lovely shaped legs, others (men) broad backs, some pretty or attractive faces, some firmly shaped bums, some good abs., wonderful smooth skin, shape of nose or a nice smile.  Each person had a truly lovely part of their body no matter what their shape or size.  Of course this is subjective as we all see beauty differently in each other and I would never judge a person by their looks as some of the media seems to.

The trash media these days seems to be so quick to pick of little parts of a person body image, forgetting that the person may have other parts that are truly attractive to the eye.

Then there is beauty of mind.  Because people rarely talk to each other at the gym I cannot comment of those around me.  But I feel that a person with a beautiful mind has the greatest beauty of all.

But the fact is that, now proven, is that humans firstly judge people by how they look and women even more so.

Its back to the gym for me tomorrow in that case!  Who knows what beautiful people I may see there……..(in my dreams).

Save the Children launches National Appeal for Clothing

Save the Children launches National Appeal for Clothing

Save the Children is launching one of its biggest national appeals for stock in May 2009. The appeal comes as donations of stock to its 122 shops fall and demand for goods grow in the economic climate.

Friday 1 May 2009

Save the Children’s shops contribute almost £7m per year to the charity’s work, but worldwide, the economic climate has affected millions of children suffering from malnutrition and lack of affordable healthcare whilst many more children fall below the poverty line in the UK, these children need help now more than ever.

A great way to help the millions of children in need is to donate a bag of items to your local Save the Children Shop, where items are turned into vital funds. With each bag of donated clothing worth, on average, £30 — enough to feed a family in South Sudan for one week!

Save the Children’s network of shops throughout the UK are always willing to accept donations of all sorts, including clothing, bric a brac, books, cds and dvds and children’s items. To find your nearest shop and donate,  call 020 7012 6400.
