It is that time of year again. I mean my top top down on my car, low cut top and wearing shorts and whizzing a long the motorway.
Today a lovely driver in his big red truck beeped me and flashed his lights. I threw him a kiss and we both laughed. Just love it.
Been swimming a lot this week like swimming breast stroke and on my back. What else is a girl to down now the summer has come. Extra bonus is that it keeps my legs and waist toned too.
Please wind will you stop blowing so cold and hard. I am wanting to go out with bare legs and no panties to get a tan now!
It is cold for the time of year in the UK right now. I sorted out all my summer clothes 2 weeks ago and I have not had a chance to wear them, and all the lovely new things I have brought. I have resorted to using a sun bed just to get those much need rays on my skin.
Forecast is sunny but cold northerly winds and more ash coming our way. Gawd……..
Wonderful weekend sailing for me!!! It was quite cold on the water although I know we have the sun at last. So no bikini for me, 5 layers and sunblock on face. Got a rope tangled around the main jib, so someone (not me) had to climb the main mast. 16 hours at sea and it was very calm so only 3-4 knots this time. Cardiff dock was very busy and beers all round that went down well. I got stuck in the galley cooking for the crew last night, but a lovely French guy who sailed back with us provided the wine and helped me in the galley. Jolly sailors time had by all.
Yes they say it is hotting up, with lovely sizzling weather coming our way for this holiday weekend. This according to the BBC weather tonight. So I have been digging out my bikinis which have not seen the light of day (no pun intended) for quite sometime. I will be lying on the beach tomorrow taking in the rays.
Last night I finished reading my book in bed and listened very attentively to the shipping forecast on radio 4 at midnight. Tomorrow seemed a long way off as I snuggled in bed wearing my red silk nightie. I would normally have no interest in finding out what conditions were like on the high seas, but as I was going sailing the next morning I thought it would be a good idea. I did not like what I heard, a lot of talk about gale force winds, heavy rain, depressions and bad weather which only made me snuggle down deeper into my lovely warm bed. But I had said yes to getting out for a sail the next day, and it might be for the last time this year.
So today I was up at 5am to catch the tide and sail the high seas, well to Swansea at least! This entailed wearing thermals under layers of stuff and waterproofs. Plenty of hot chocolate it keep us warm on the inside and our morale high, as we set off into the greyness of this morning. The winds were behind us so we made good time but the rain was unmerciful as we headed NW to Swansea. My poor hands and face got very cold so I stayed below for most of the time until I felt sick, so then I went on deck to see if I could help out keeping us afloat. Once ashore the only thing I wanted to do was get home and have a long, very long hot shower, wash my hair and go out and eat a steak dinner. It was fun and a challenge that I hope to repeat again in the Spring when the weather might be kinder to my hands and face, which is a bit chapped at the moment!
The last time I went sailing was in Spain, on a lovely warm still day, wearing my a halter neck white swim suit and hat which showed off my bossom beautifully (so I was told). Seemed like a very long time ago today!
